I'm downing a file from someone who got it from someone else; now somehow somewhere the hash has altered........And I'm screwed as the other hash has 12 sources....and mine mere one.....

Now the question is can I transfer /take over my data and queue the other file....?We are talking about 200 mb...would be a waste...

Mldonkey might be able to do this. It has an experimental feature, which recognizes identical chunks between two files and exchanges them. But I suppose thant won't help you.

What will happen if would start downloading the other wich would become part.met 48 then then quit emule, delete part.met 48 and replace it with a copied part.met 47 renamed part.met 48 and restart my mule....?

Am I missing something here or could it be fooled ?

Edited !

Probably would not work. Don't let you fool by the fact, that both parts belong to the same movie. From the edonkey point of view they have two different hashes, so they are two different movies, too.

What do you think would happen, if you'd replace your part.met with with an arbitrary other part.met from another film?

Yes,i think I know what you mean but I am hoping that you could replace a BLANK part.met with a 'shaped' might work.....

replacing a 'shaped' one with a other 'shaped' one......yeah,smells like disaster....

Still, this transplantation sound like a challenge

A blank part.met must still contain the hash of the file.

And as I said: Transplanting is possible. Mldonkey can do this. But not in the simple way you proposed.

Of course, there might be tools for emule, which can to this, too. But this is not my field of expertise. :-)

After looking around myself, I conclude that 's not worth the trouble ...200 mb -what a waste...then again I have this 795 file in my list incomplete for weeks...
I'll get over it - it's just that I had built up a headstart

And don't ya laugh at me Monkeysmasher ,coz the file in question is Zombie Nosh!!!
Cancel it , redo a saerch and you should come up with a 12 sources hash.....Can't give you the hash since he chat with me ( warning the existence of 2 hashes) and said he'd post it...

Your right paul_scream22 did rip zombie nosh and we were both sharing it but it had different hashs, it turns out if you ftp something and you get disconnected at any point due to a crash/internet goin offline/or whatever reason it causes the destination file to become ever so slightly different thus resulting in a different hash, it happened when i got a file off bassline aswell, night of the living dead 30th annniversary

If they ever knocked at my door I would don my mask, pick up my meat cleaver in one hand and my machette in the other, and then I would punish them like no soul has been punished before. They will beg me to kill them after a century of pain at my merciless hands.

Or I could just burn my HDD, but this method is not as much fun
