Been burning lots of backups as of late.

Noticed that on some of the copies, the picture SEEMS joggy... maybe it's my imagination.

Looks fine on my computer in both dvd disc drives.

Player? Media? Drive?

I'm not sure. Not really an issue, just something that I'm wondering about.

joggy?

Was it a jogging instruction DVD?

Do you mean:
Pixelated / off-colour / foggy / stuttering?

Foggy / Pixeleation comes from re-encoding at too low a bitrate ie. too highly compressed.
Off-colour comes from encoding errors.
Stuttering is normally playing back different picture systems on different equipment (ie. NTSC on PAL). But you say its backups, and that it plays fine on your pc, so at a guess, it will be the player struggling with the media/format.

:D

By "jogging", I mean that it seems to move a little at the top of the screen, where it doesn't with the original.

Kind of annoying!

I'm sure that it's just the player, but I wanted to get your expert opinion on the matter!

That's very odd, I've never heard of the matte moving. What re-encoder are you using btw?

Yeah, it's pretty damn weird if you ask me.

I usually use DVD Decrypter to rip to my harddrive and then burn w/Nero or I'll just burn a scene rip with either of the apps mentioned above.

As I said, it's kind of annoying. Not too noticable if you're not staring at it :D
