The remake:

http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/mov ... entity.php (The Entity)

they really really are running out of ideas!!

and the sequel:

http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/mov ... ntine2.php (My Bloody Valentine 2)

they can't even give us teh original movie as intended so now they thinking of using cut footage to make a follow up!? - sounds like another Boogeyman2!!

It'll never end!

By the time they've finished remaking all these films, they'll be ready to go back and remake the remakes :matrix:

First I'd heard of that, how depressing :?
I wouldn't even say it's old, or dated, enough to warrant a remake.
Sounds like the final nail in the coffin of originality!

The Fly was a remake anyway  okay it bared little resemblance beyond basic story but I mean, if they didn't remake Vincent Price's version, we wouldn't have Cronenbergs.

Its good to take a concept that doesn't quite work and try and fix it, problem is they take the ones that are successful and try and clone it with crap cast and directors.

I've no arguements there. The problem is (as I see it), that the current wave of remakes are nothing more than shameless cash-ins. There's nothing wrong with taking an old film and updating it with new ideas, ie Cronenbergs Fly and Carpenters The Thing.
In most cases though, they're remaking films that simply don't need it (and butchering them in the process).

Must have missed that thread, but I'll take a look :D
I've actually had both those sites bookmarked for a long time now, although I'll have to admit I haven't checked either of them for some time. Guess I just got a bit jaded by all the low quality announcements. I find it very hard to get excited about most new horror films these days.
