Eddie Izzard was always just a rumour, spread after he was suggested by Tom Baker in an interview. The gutter press picked up on it and ran it as one of their "exclusives".

Izzard was never in the running, the same goes for Shane Ritchie. A lot of times these things are made up by their agents to get them column inches in the rags and mags. Only Eccleston and Bill Nighy were ever real contenders.

well, this probably doesn't mean anything, but when you scroll down the full credits for both films on the above mentioned site you can read this:

from what one of my friends stateside tells me both are screening on tv at the end of the week (sept 23rd i think they said) beats me if they are or not tho
