I don't know how this happened, but for some time, there's been a few bugs, which I can't seam to fix. They weren't there in the beginning, but I contracted them somehow.

1. Explorer and whatever player I use, shuts down when I try to play a .wmv file. Even selecting it, makes explorer shut down. =( Might be some double codec installed or something?

2. Suddenly I had to click my username when I have restarted, in order to log in. I have no idea why that started to happen. It used to log in automatically.

3. When I use Outlook Express to read mail, and click on the link from a 'notify of reply' mail from HHAH for example, it suddenly started to use an allready open IE window to go to that forum post, and not open up a new one, like it used to. Have no idea how that happened either.

Was also very strange that Winrar was suddenly not cracked anymore at some point, but that I can fix myself.

I have the same problem as you but it's just 2. & 3. I too can't seem to find the problem.

I had issue 2 suddenly start happening without a re-install of Windows, I did fix it but can't remember how, a google search for something like "xp login" should yield results.

2. Go to control panel/user accounts. Make sure guest account is switched off.
(that fixed it for me)

I've had problems 1&3 on win98 too. Never managed to solve 1, but if I remember the other I'll post it.

Guest account is off, but there is another account there "ASP.NET Machine A..." What the heck is that, and is it safe to delete it?

I've no idea what that is, but I wouldn't advise deleting it before you find out.
Have you tried copying the name into google and searching?

Yeah. It was the .net platform thingy. Said I could delete it if I didn't use any .net programs, which I'm pretty sure I don't.

I think this issue might be SP-related, it started happening to me after the installation of service pack.

As for WMV, I'm having a lot of trouble with this format. Have you installed the newest Microsoft WMV codecs? This might solve the problem. On the other hand, it might not. Seems to work on one of my computers, but not on the other one.

@John Doe

You can delete "ASP.NET Machine A..." and that should do the trick and restart your pc, I did and now I don't have to logon to my pc.

Both my machines do that. Happens after setting up networking, if I remember correctly. I always thought it was normal. I'll try the setting described in the link.
