Started causing explorer to crash whenever I selected movie files. Apparently it's quite common, but easy to fix by switching off the task pane in folder options.

Wasn't doing it after the install yesterday, and no additions to my pc since. No idea why it just started today, but at least it's working now (never used that pane anyway)

In my experience , Windows Media player doesn't like to share your HD with MPC

errr. sorry to contradict you ohgo (that post is really odd, took me a couple of minutes of sitting here looking confused before posting  ), but they are seperate programs, using seperate system files, made by seperate companies and are totally unrelated beyond the fact that MPC was designed to mimic the look of the old WMP. MPC doesn't interfere at all with wmp, no more than any other player available, which isn't very common. Infact, less so because it doesn't use any of its system files like other players can (ie. zoomplayer).

Is there something that brought up that comment that I've missed? I checked through the thread but I couldn't spot anything, the only posts were about explorer crashing when an avi was clicked, and this has nothing at all to do with MPC.

/me continues to be confused
