I don't intend to watch DVD movies on my computer but for example just to test/preview DVD images (on Daemon Tools) before burning.

Most preferred would be just a simple, functional app, nothing fancy with hardware accelerated visuals and skins that take the size of half the screen or whatever.
Of course it should be able to use the menus etc; whatever a standalone player does.

thanks in advance!

imo, powerdvd installed, then use Zoomplayer. Powerdvd is a bit tempromental and very slow, but if u setup zoomplayer to use its dvd playback filters, its quick and easy :)

so I wouldn't actually have to run powerdvd at all if I want to play something -- only zoomplayer?
can this be done with bsplayer?

nope, don't think so. Zoomplayer uses whatever components you select, you can install both windvd and powerdvd and mix the audio from windvd with the video filter from powerdvd if you so wish it.

I use (in combination with Daemon Tools) DVD X Player.

I think it works like a charm and with all the functionality
of a good dvd-software-player as you might expect from it.

Namely I use i for testing SKVCD's I've created :

It can play all sorts of discs (virtual or not).

Btw : I don't know if this is the right link for it (I've burned my copy to dvd a while ago so I don't have the hash for it :wacky: )

But it's only about 3 megs big,so that won't be the problem I assume !
