I have this one on DVD, but only in german. It`s about 81 min, but i think it`s cut. Quality is not the best 4:3.
If you want it, i can release it in a few weeks.

eh, if someone want the english audio to go with the german dvd rip, i can separate it into an mp3. may need to cut it, but cooledit seems to work doing things like that.

don't bother for my sake. I watched it and thought the quality was adequate for an adequate movie.

Not particularly, bits of it are quite good, but it's kind of an Aliens rip off in places and you can see borrowed bits from lots of other movies. It isn't particularly bad either.

2-3/5 about

Your rip is pretty decent but you have a bad AR, I need to set it to 4:3 to get rid of the stretched heads :( You need to keep the aspect ratio when ripping, and make the horizontal and vertical divisable by 16.

Do you use gknot for encoding your rips?

gspot shows:
720x480 (1.50:1) [~3:2]

That isn't the aspect ratio of the film, i think it should be 4:3 = 640x480

Easily fixed though and the rip has 6 or 7 sources and good quality

edit: oops saw you posted that in the main post

err, this isnt a dvd, the original tape from the 80's is formated to look that stretched way. i have a few like that.

gknot i have never used for caps, just virtualdub with the same setting each time. if i get new hardware i usually try to up the quality standards as far as possible. hehe, it would take a few paragraphs to detail why i do it at 720x480. usually 29.97xx is what i use as its the standard here, 25fps looks a bit jerky to me.

my setup is different than most peoples, so what looks and sound good to me may be really messed up to others.

looking at it closely, I have to apologise it isn't that wrong AR, it just seems a bit weight watcherish on my pc. Might be an NTSC thing.

BTW, films are filmed at 23fps, 25fps is actually closer to cinema than NTSC. NTSC seems flickery to me though, but you get used to it after a couple of minutes. The downside is increased risk of eye cancer but who cares nowadays :D

Anyway, I'm sharing this rip atm :)

hehe, i still havent watched it. i could only find part 2. has the wormy guy from x-files, krychek or something. i vaguely remember hearing it while it was capping, british-y sounding.

i dont think ive seen my cd of xtro for weeks, now that i think about it. abducktion

quack

may be cause i use a ntsc tv as a monitor i dont notice some things. that and its rather a big screen tv. i dont notice anything to bad about PAL stuff i watch, but rarely do i have movies full screen, i may miss some flickering effects.

film is like 23.97xx fps i think. i do wonder about the different formats around the world and why they are the way they are. could have sworn it had something to do with people's diets in the various countrys. i think i read that somewhere if im not just making it up.

I think NTSC is the original, PAL came out later and that's the reason it is superior ie. newer technology. NTSC also has that problem with colours not displaying correctly

Ah well, Xtro is worth a look, especially if you live in the UK cos it's one of those Video Nasties that had the BBFC up in arms

now what does this have in common with Von Triers Riket? (don't answer, cause it will spoil Riket)
