Pretty old version of x264, but the quality is pretty decent :)

Downside: I forgot to do OCR correction on some subtitles (I and l); annoying but gotta live with it rather than make a whole new release :D

did you not crop either? You've made the same mistake as the other rip. Huge quality tip, remove ALL black boarders and you'll get substantially better quality.

Sure I cropped
The black borders are here to offset the image on here, nothing else :)

It would be bizarre to be able to produce an avc in matroska with 4 audio tracks and not know what crop is ;)

I'm sorry it looks like those screenshots look like they could be hugely improved - obviously, I'm not up to the quality level here :) :)

fair enough, it just looks like you've not cropped too from those screens with matting visible top, left, right, and bottom.

it might be better to use a better program to make your screens with. The whole point of the screens is to be representative of the rip, so its probably a better idea to do a frame capture instead of print screen so people know what they are getting.

I didn't mean to 'dis' your rip, but I thought if it were reripped unmatted you'd probably be able to get better preservation of detail on the face and static backgrounds. If it is unmatted, then you'd probably be able to acheive that only from dropping the extra audio tracks or reducing the resolution a bit.

You got to admit, it makes it look like you've made the same mistake as the first rip, and if your rip is better you might as well present it as such so everyone can see. ;)

You can't preserve more details by reducing the resolution, only lose some more ;) All it does is reduce the blocking.
As for multiple audio tracks, well, it's a question of taste. I don't do rips for the general public, but for myself and a few close friends, so it's tailored to what I want and what they need. This was an exercise in cramming, and it worked well :)
I posted it here because I happened to see the link, showing a poor waste of hard drive space.
I'll change the pics, though it being a mkv, it won't attract anybody anyway

well i have absolutely no problem with mkv :) Its actually a nice container imo, but then again if you buy a standalone that can't play them that's sucks to them

That's why people won't touch them ;)
Never mind avc. (that said, I have had takers for it, I'm being mean) I wish I could do high profile/high res (it looks unbelievable) now the codec is so advanced (that rip is 7 months old, and about 200 codec releases behind LOL), but my pc is not powerful enough :( Takes too long.
