Anyone heard the new album by Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine? I think it's much better than Damnation, which I didn't like.

I'm looking for some melodic death metal and seeing as this forum is made up of mainly Europeans i figured there should be lots of guys here who can help me with this. Of course i like the main ones like In Flames and Gardenian(now defunct from what i last heard). I never know where to look on the web for recommendations on bands.
I happend to catch a video last night of Cradle of Filth's "Nymphetamine" and i loved it. Not sure if there considered melodic death but you catch my drift on the kind of stuff i'm looking for. Anybody know of any others that are good?

I suggest you look up the band Limbonic Art. I'm not a fan of death metal at all as a general rule, but I ran across these guys one day about five years ago and just loved them. I'm sure they fall into the category you are looking for. Overture Nocturne is my favorite song they've done.

Try and stick em in here so we can keep everything on track....I have alwasy felt Dimmu is a much more taleted oriented band than COF but hey..not heard this latest one yet...Midian though was just awesome work though as far as a COF album. In Flames best days are over after Clayman unfortunately....such a great talent from those guys....just falling a bit drab as of late.Dark Tranquility is another good melodic entry in the force as well.

I agree In Flames have slowly bit the big one lately. I've also checked out other COF ones before but haven't cared for any of them until i heard this song on the tv last night.
By the way i've also been looking for another player for these instead of Music Match Jukebox. Fucking takes forever to open and i just don't like it anymore. What do you guys use for a player?
Thanks for that link Dxa. Did not know there was a metal thread here.

Yeah..product of Doc and me I myslef just use winamp for music....sounds the best to em..I am sure there are better but I just go for the easy route at times.Better than WMP that is for sure
@ Doc.....I agree...maybe I should remove soem of those links I had stuck up before...shorten things up and add newer ones....You could do the same on a few yourself and lets see if we can't get that sticky back on track

I will merge this one with the Metalmania thread in a few hours.
As for my recommendations, try "Midian" and "Nymphetamine" by COF if you liked the song. "Ultimate Death Worship" by Limbonic Art is a very good album, very harsh yet still melodic. My favourite of all times -> Dissection, "Storm of the Light's Bane". And there's also a very good Polish band named Sirrah, both "Acme" and "Did Tomorrow Come" are very good (they are completely different in style though). For melodic black metal try Summoning, "Dol Guldur", "Stronghold" and "Let Mortal Heroes..." (all of them inspired by Tolkien, very monumental buty still heavy). Samael, "Passage" might be interesting for you too, and if you're looking for something harder, try ""Ceremony of Opposities" by the same band.
BTW, none of the bands mentioned here are exactly death metal groups, except for In Flames (but this New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal sounds like cheerful black metal to me), so I guess what you're looking for is black metal rather than death.

Orphaned Land's last album Mabool is plain great. I strongly suggest you to give them a try.
If you like COF's last album, then you'll most certainly like their previous albums too. Also you could get Agathodaimon's last album, Serpent's Embrace.
