My PC has taken to crashing whenever I click "advanced" in display properties
I've checked the even log and there is nothing indicated, I've re-installed the latest Catalyst drivers, but it STILL does it.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

My Computer>Manage>System Tools>Event Viewer
Hopefully it will tell you why it crashed.

thats odd, it should list every single 'crash' (ie. you get a message) you ever get, not only that but errors, and service interruptions.

When I say crash, the PC just immediately reboots, no message, no nothing
I'll try DXdiag later, the weird thing is though, it doesn't affect games or anything else for that matter, it's only the advanced tab in display properties.

dxdiag is your friend in cases like these.
See if anything is not liked, and post back.
I have a feeling I know what it is though.
/not going to say until you check.=P
Also, what version of DX are you on?

did you patch your Windows with the latest DX patch?
Or you should have sp2.
either or.
Also check your startup programs, you may find the answer there?

People are hacking DX holes these days for stros.
So make sure.=P
that's why I think it was just a sloppy job on the hacker?
Don't want to make you freak out, but this is a known side effect.

Ah right, you mean its BSODing? You need to disable automatic reboot:
2nd button>My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Startup and Recovery>Settings>System Failure
Make sure "Write an event to the system log" is checked, and make sure "Automatically restart" is unchecked
This should stop windows restarting and just revert back to the old BSOD (note to all, this is what M$ mean by less errors, it just doesn't tell you )
If it just cuts off still, ie. you have BSOD on (automatically restart off) but it just restarts, maybe a power thing? Check your not overloading the PSU -> GFX with crap, uninstall the gfx card drivers and grab the newer (none of the crap included) plain drivers.
