It seems the Mpaa is going to take the same route as the Riaa and start sueing individuals. There main targets are going to be Ed2k and bittorent networks. http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=597
I don't know about you guys but i've noticed when i'm on emule that my Protowall has been going off a lot more recently. I'm seeing a lot of what i used to see being blocked on Kazaa way back when. Anybody else noticing anything like that?

What do you mean with 'somehow'? They simply have to use their own servers. Then you tell them, what you have and what you release.

Read on Zeropaid.com that they're excepted to send out 200 lawsuits initially. I also read they were going to be sent out on Nov.16 but i can't find where i read that last night.

I really which they'd stop making up shit like that.
a) they are making larger profits than they ever had
b) they aren't loosing dick most of the time, they make huge profits despite 'piracy'
c) films are totally shit these days, no wonder no1 wants to watch em
d) piracy is the profit from illegal goods and material
e) its the mafia and organised crime in asia where all the sales are made, and they don't give a crap about this
Its merely scare tactics, by making these announcements they believe that they can scare people into stop using p2p (kinda like Bush scared people into voting for him what with the <s>commu</s> terrorists wanting to rape the horses and ride off on the women).
On to targeting emule, well BayTSP has been after peeps on emule all the time, they just aren't too good at it. Emule is a lot harder to track than BT, if they are going after BT, that will be easiest.

And besides, the whole idea that every person who downloads a movie would have paid for it if they didn't download it, is preposteruos! Would every person who uses the librabry, otherwise have bought the books they read? In reality they're not "loosing" any money. What p2p is doing is simply letting more people watch their movies, for which they should be glad. It is helping spreading the word, like free advertisement.

Seems to be a pretty obvious road map.
1. p2p apps build community of illegal file sharing
-many apps responsible for this, and the number only increases with the amount of people online, and higher speed of connections
2. popularity of p2p app brings wide spread media attention, and attention of RIAA and MPAA
-Napster to name the obvious one
3. RIAA finds new "online" market
-they can see their pockets getting bigger already
4. Law suits designed as scare tactics are succuessful
-one of the biggest successes was the law suit of the (what was she, 13 years old?) young girl... loads of media attention... let the fear begin
5. deploy legit pay music download sites, for the honest people out there
-ah, everyone has noticed all the new pay music download sites
6. make tons of more money
-$$$$
Biggest thing, in my opinion, threatening movie sharing is the availability of high spead internet connections. You get loads of people with the ability and desire to pay for high speed connections, and you got another market for movies. Another thing is how to make a downloaded movie easier to watch by Mr. Joe Average on his tv.
I don't blame the RIAA and MPAA. Their job is to make money, and they seem to be pretty good at it. And I refuse to believe that p2p has hurt them in the least, and one could even say it has helped make them more money...
Nah... everyone knows porn built up the internet.

Where did Satan say he wasn't using P2P anymore?
for the record, P2P is legal everywhere, what ISN'T legal in most parts of the world is the distibution of copyrighted material.
