The link mentions that the HOT version is softcore. So, is that the uncut one or the cut one? Or is there more than one?
Okay, i just checked IMDB and it says there are x and XXX rated versions. Which is this?

doc, you should have metioned more explecitely that it's an ed wood movie, not just your regular porn flick...
maybe have his name in the tile of the post ?

also, it should have gone in non-horror releases

and thanks to madescap for sharing this on the mule

btw this is the hot hot hot version

Quote:
In 1971, Ed Wood's "Necromania: A Tale of Weird Love"—one of the last of over two dozen porn flicks made in the 1960s and early 70s by the cinematic genius responsible for such classics as "Glen or Glenda?" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space"—opened at the Hudson Theater in Times Square for an extremely limited run ... and the full hardcore version of the film hasn't been seen in its entirety since. Until this month, that is, when it becomes the first DVD released under the Fleshbot Films imprint. Yes, we're very proud. Wherever he is, we hope Ed is too.

About "Necromania"

Filmed in 1971 in less than a week with a 20 page script and a budget of $7,000, "Necromania" is one of the best known of Ed Wood's pornographic films. Two versions of the movie were produced, and two cameramen were used, since one of them refused to shoot any hardcore sex scenes. Both versions were later edited by Wood himself.

The plot involves a coven of witches, led by the mysterious Madame Heles, who concoct a series of "lessons" for a couple whose sex life is less than satisfying. Their teaching methods involve topless chanting, simulated intercourse with painted skulls, and a lot of oral sex. Madame Heles was to have been played by longtime Wood collaborator Maila "Vampira" Nurmi, who took one look at the script and withdrew herself from the production citing concerns of "professional suicide".

The softcore version of "Necromania" (or the "Hot" version, to use Wood's terminology), which has been circulating for years in various low-quality videotape editions, is no more explicit than other racy movies of its time, such as the films of Russ Meyer. But it's the hardcore (or "Hot! Hot! Hot!") version, released here in its entirety for the first time, which distinguishes "Necromania" not only from its contemporaries, but from the other skin flicks in Wood's ouevre.

This version includes more explicit footage, including one scene where one of the witches manages to magically bring her sex minion to orgasm with a minimum of effort (though the process is recorded by the camera in almost excruciating detail) and another which ranks up there with the graveyard sequences in "Plan 9 From Outer Space" as one of the most outstandingly bizarre in Wood's career: an extended hardcore scene which takes place in a coffin. Eros and thanatos are thus inextricably linked in "Necromania", providing a fitting coda to Ed Wood, Jr.'s singular career.

mmm well even though imdb says its horror, i would consider it more sleaze, but hey, that's not a big deal, just my personal opinion

anyway, it's not the hot version, it's the hot hot hot version so your title is a bit misleading
as for including ed wood's name in the title, it's just so that ed wood fans can identify it better, cause i'm sure people get this because it's an ed wood movie, not just because of the plot
anyway, like i said, not that important, just stuff to make things clearer

(and i would have posted it here if you hadn't, it's just you were faster ;) )
