Here is one of the best/worst movies of the 80's.I warned a few of you a while back that I was releasing this..now you can revolt in horror at the abysmal acting, the shoddy sound production and horrible dialogue. This tape also suffered a beer bath like the Sinful dwarf release although i didn't cut anything out..there are a couple of brief seconds of a white bar that pops up..this is a tracking issue that I have no control over..so until I get better equipment this is the best I can offer for this movie.Seriously though..it is a laugh riot with some pretty good gore scenes in it.

Just remember after watching it.."it wasn't me..it was the abomination."

say, this is one of those vhs's that i couldnt capture from tape due to some non-macrovision copyprotection scheme.
if u have the tape, what make/brand/year is it?

No clue man..it ain't tape guarded though. It is an American release of it not an import..I found a few cover pics on the net but nothing postable here..The flaws are just from age itself I think...beer not withstanding, its only a few seconds towards the end but its still annoying enough to put a warning out. After capturing these movies I came to the realization that I need a different capturing system...the card I have works but it is a bit buggy it seems.
For some reason I am thinking it was Continental that released it but i could be wrong,I have been before

hehehe.
for just a second there i started to wonder if i couldnt cap these because my equipment is not set up for things without copyprotection.
errr, what capture card you use? (if u dont mind my prying) i like to know how other people cap stuff, settings, tweaks, anything. its seems with all the dvds out not many people do vhs captures. i do them still because i got shitloads of vhs tapes.

Got a MSI Nvidia Ti 4600 for the vid card.I use a hi fi 4 head memorex for the vcr.I have tried alot of different capture progs but it seems to me it sort of falls in the realm of emule where you just find a prog that works to your system and then use it.
With these captures I used Vdubs virtual vcr with all the settings of a full capture.then run them through vdub again with the deinterlace filter on and resize using that.I used divx 5.5 pro for the encoding.
Pretty much all there is to it.The thing with my capture card is that sometimes if the tracking goes askew a white border pops up in the middle of the capture....making it unreadable for the most part. Most tapes that wouldn't be a problem but for these old ones I am working with it is.I had Faces of Death IV all captured but when i went back and screened it about halfway through the bar pops up and sometimes didn't disapear for a few minutes.Needless to say I ended up deleting that one and am gonna have to hold of on that release for awhile.

what capture format do you use? i dont cap with vdub, but thats what i use to process it into an avi(i cap in mpeg1). i tried vdub to capture, but it always had problems. what size are your captured files before you encode them in divx?

hehe, i meant file size, mb. i think huffy is like 1/2 the size of uncompressed video, so i would guess a 90min movie is many many gigabites, like more than 10gig a movie?
err, some people like to bitch about capping at 720x480, but thats how i do them too. very few people with NTSC video standards on emule it seems, and i guess caps must look different on PAL. but it looks like you must have resized or cropped it.
i cant seem to find a source for this abomination on mule, i wanted to see how it looked. i seen your name around a bit, but dont think ive seen any of your captures that i know of.

I would say a 90 to 110 minute movie hits about the 40 to 45 gb range when capturing. The only other thing I have ever released that was captured was the traces of death movie.I did up traces 2 as well but the sound came out real loud..not sure what happened there..visually it looks good..one 2 second blurb and that's all..traces 1 I captured using standard vcd size and actually used ulead to capture that in an mpg format instead of avi.you can tell the quality lacks big time.Traces 2 was my second rip and that was when i started capturing at the high res rate..i also did alot of reading up during that time figuring out the tweaks and such.
I got to get my online sig thing worked out so I can use it.I am on emule server 2 as of this moment...I am pretty much always on probenprinz.de..I got you on my buddies list..not that I want to start that convo again

'convo'? i guess that means conversation?
eh, ok.
i still couldnt find a source.oh, well, no biggie. i got the vhs, i just wanted to compare distortioned areas.
err, my caps are usually about 2.5 gigs for a 90 minute movie, in mpeg1. i cant tell the difference between when i cap uncompressed, or at my settings, and since nobody has complained yet, i guess it looks ok.

The buddies list conversation that was on another thread was what I was talking about.
There is a big difference in size when capturing in mpeg that I did notice.I would love to be able for something to be able to be captured at that filesize and look good.Like I said though at least with my vid card the best results come from doing the avi captures,I figure I am limited enough

Traces = Faces or a different film series?
I recently downloaded Faces of Death 2 and 3 from bit torrent, but they are oversized (ie. 705mb and 730mb i think). I was going to release them, but your versions will be a lot better i'd suspect

Yeah Traces of Death is alot differnet.
Traces has death metal music going to it all the way through..Faces has alot of recreated scenes in it.But when it really comes down to it they all end up picking the same footage for their series anyways...traces has a more clear picture in most cases.I just finished Faces of Death VI and the quality leaves something to be desired. In some intances it whites out the screen, like they took it from a 8th generation copy and used my grandmothers 1979 vcr. :x The car and plane wrecks they have in the traces series are a real killer but then you also have to sit there and watch stuff like female to male surgery,Aborted deformed fetus's and the circumsicion of young african boys(that part even makes me cringe) Traces definately glorifies the violence more.
I got this last one I need to do today called Dead on Arrival which is animals attacking people and people attacking animals.
Strange..I didn't realise this but I just did a search and apparently the whole Traces series is avaiabe on DvD,complete with #5 which I do not have. :!:

I had a dutch import VHS of this some time ago, on the Midnite Movies label. Great low-budget fun, and unusually for a dutch tape it had english language, but no subs. The other movie I had on that label was the interestingly titled :
Ozone : Attack of the Redneck Mutants http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0144547
Great stuff!
