Is it just me, or has Season 16 of the simpsons sucked?

Its sucked for ages. On the latest red dwarf dvd there's a feature on the making of the american pilots and it summed it up.

Rob Grant and Doug Naylour repeatedly told them to shut up and think of decent plot for jokes, the 'simpsons' and other major show writers just threw in a series of one liners.

Thats all Simpsons is anymore. Its trying to copy family guy too as of late imo.

They should have cancelled simpsons and kept futurama imo when they had the choice.

It's a shame, really. The Simpsons used to be a funny show, with heart, and it was actually about things. It was rarely, if ever, over the top. Now that's all it is. References to older, better episodes, and "how CRAZY can we make the next episode?!". Family Guy started out zany, and that's all it was meant to be - The Simpsons started out as a great show, and now it just sucks.

I think they lost some writers (or they really let their standards slip).

Plus when the guy that played Troy McClure got murdered that was a real blow.

I guess i know what sparked this, the last episode was awful, even by Series 16 standards. Its truely is dreadful... you know when you watch something and they are desperately trying to be funny? Well that pretty much sums up that last episode.
