OK...So here's something that's really obnoxious.
I downloaded this...The.Hills.Have.Eyes.2.1985.DVDRip.XviD.avi
My Phillips DVP-642 basically refuses to play it as is.
So I popped it back into my comp to see if I could fix it using VirtualDub, which usually consists of ripping the sound off in .wav form, then using .wav audio, full processing mode for the .wav into a .mp3, and Divx codec for the Video.
But no, the audio won't rip off it as .wav. VirtualDub is able to save it with a .wav extension, but whatever magical mystical codec was used, VirtualDub can't convert. So it just saves the audio in the same format with a .wav at the end. With the end result that the audio track TOTALLY gets skewed with the video, for some reason.
Like full seconds behind or in front. I can't even tell cuz it's so screwed up.
Why do people use these kinds of Codecs? What can I do about it?
