just watched the original oldie.

A surreal treat!!! Love every minute of it. One of the extremley few pieces I liked much more in film-, than in book form. Only the ending was a little sub-par IMO. Wells should have left it like the book there, but acordning to IMDB he changed it cause he didn't want people thinking of the holocaust.....?!

It's no doubt the best Welles flick I've seen as of yet, greatly surpassing Citizen Kane, which I could never understand what the craze was all about....

You can see how this must have influenced tons of 'modern' film-makers such as Terry Gilliam (especially Brazil), David Lynch and the Cohens (Barton Fink).

Also the office that K works in has become the standard module for just about every office scene since.
