I disagree completely. The chain she's tied to is about 8-10ft long so she can get to her food and water no problem and get to comfortable chair for her to lay in. Where in a kennel all she can do is lay. At least she has freedom of movement because she's not confined in a cage where at most she could do is sit up and turn around. That's way more barbaric than anything if you ask me.

My apologies, I thought she was chained up on a short leash to keep her under control. My dogs have a 10 foot by 8 Foot Shed, with a similar sized fenced run outside which is their 'kennel' so I was thinking along different lines. I guess when you said 'kennel' you meant the small hut type one (like the one butch lives in on Tom & Jerry)

Anyway, hope I didn't cause offence, I know you're trying to do the best for your dog. :)

Now you can see why I never jumped in DJ, the amount of times I have jumped to conclusions and been wrong LOL

To be fair, all dogs are different, my boy escaped out the dining room last nite and couldn't get back in, so she crapped all over the front room carpet, which is new and expensive. Needless to say he is not in our good books 2day LOL

No probs DJ. I'm just going to send my dog out to hunt you down  Actually my dog doesn't scare anybody. She wouldn't hurt a flea. Now my cat. That's a different story. Fucking thing is psycho when people come over. Hisses and swipes at anything that moves. Our vet has recommended he take anti-anxiety medication. When we got him fixed he took a couple chunks out of the vet and her assistant. They wouldn't even take the cat out of the cage when we went to pick him up after the surgery.
