Hey guys... Here is some newer black metal.. Im not much into the new suff but Woods of Ypres is a very well put together album. They are Canadian too.

Even if you don't like BM, give them a try. Im not really into BM but this album is quite a work of art.

Thanks CaoticLunatic, i'll give it a try.

@biggy666: Got your files and listened to them, it's not bad at all :). I like the two live tracks, but the demo track i don't. Could be the recording quality too, it misses the powerful sound, wich would make the kind of music you play sound a lot better i think.

@biggy, i must say it sounded ok and sure it would be intressting to be on one of them live shows, but as D. says it missed the fat sound... a demo is even more intressting ;)

@ChaoticLunatic, i will give them a try.....

Style - Melodic Black Metal

NINNGHIZHIDDA: how the hell would you pronounce that? The answer lies in the magnificent NILE album, "Black Seeds Of Vengeance", where on the track "Defiling The Gates Of Ishtar" the lyrics go "Baad Angarru, Ninnghizhidda, open the gate?". NINNGHIZHIDDA is the demon that protects the gates of Ishtar, which links this bandname and the NILE track. Enough for the history part of this review, and also the NILE comparison. Music-wise there are very few connections with that band, NINNGHIZHIDDA plays Black metal in the vein of DIMMU BORGIR, and "Demigod" is their second album.

The recent months have been pretty dull on the Black Metal front, and I'm always happy to find another good melodic Black Metal band around. So after seeing the cover in a magazine somewhere I decided to purchase the new NINNGHIZHIDDA record which is supposedly something for fans of SAMAEL and DIMMU BORGIR. And though the descriptions of new releases by record labels are sometimes a bit off, Displeased is usually pretty damn accurate. The opening track "Prowling Sin" is rather deceiving, as it starts in a very deathy way, but after a few minutes when the atmospheric keyboards kick in the record screams BLACK METAL!! And oh my, it's good! Where DIMMU BORGIR nowadays relies too much on the violence of master Barker, and the keys are not as effective as they used to be, NINNGHIZHIDDA manages to display atmosphere as it is supposed to be.

The keyboards only come to the front at the right time, and on other occasions serve as perfect background harmonies. The axes on the album are well-done, also containing some subtle solo-parts and are not only confining themselves to the Melodic Black Metal genre (again I'm referring to the opening riff on the track "Prowling Sin" and some other tracks as well). Add good drums and vocals, a razor-sharp production and a little dash of female vocals and you create something like "Demigod".

Highlights of this CD are opener "Prowling Sin", the title track, "Mistress Of The Night" and the brilliant instrumentals "March Of The Servants" and "Siesta In A - Minor". This album is truly great, along with ANOREXIA NERVOSA - "New Obscurantis Order" and CATAMENIA - "Eskhata" my fav Melodic Black Metal albums of the last months. If you like well-executed atmospheric Black Metal, you can't miss NINNGHIZHIDDA! And watch out for this band, after the successful attempt at the title of "Demigod" their next album could very well earn them "god" status (or devil, whatever you prefer). (Online July 12, 2002)

One of my favourite bands, which happens to be from Poland. Very powerful, technically perfect death metal music. *Highly* recommended.

New necrophagia? :mrgreen: Sweet man :mrgreen: Got all their vids....Didn't realise Phil and Killjoy were still working with this band anymore.Although I much rather liked the bands music befor ePhil joined up....The Vids put this band over the edge....Van Bebber has alot to do with it though I suspect.
