Is there any way for me to normalize the audio that's on a .avi?
What I mean is make it louder.
I have a movie, and the sound is really really really barely audible. I have to turn my amp up like 3/4 to even hear it, and if my computer makes a beep during that time it's the loudest beep in the world.
Anyone?

Autogain is on, and it's still quiet.
But that's all I did was turn it on.
Do I need to do something else?
I think I'm probably missing something obvious.
How do I know that this movie even uses AC3? Maybe it was recorded with just really low audio levels.
This sucks.

Hhhm, it is AC3 with me too. Never did manage to figure it out. Every suggestion anyone had did not work, strange.

I had the same problem, it's ok after I've adjusted gain level in AC3 filter. But it still isn't as loud as, for instance, mp3.

u guys using surround sound systems? I just turned on autogain and it balances the info across the channels pretty well at a decent level. Much louder for explosions and shit, but well its meant to be.

I'm using 2 speakers (the soundcard is connected to my stereo).

I can get it louder, not really very good but alot more usable than it was. Dunno why but mine never remembers the settings I change, no major hassle tho as I still do not get that many AC3 movies.
I agree with you Polityk, it definitely is not as loud as MP3, not even close.

tis a common problem mind, not the first time I've heard about people getting low audio.
Just make sure you've got the latest AC3filter and you have autogain and your profile setup to match your setup

TBH, altho I tried everything that was suggested, it was never a big enuff issue to warrant having much time spent on.
The percentage of films I get with AC3 audio is very low, I am more used to just applying the settings, enuff times now to be able to do it on autopilot LOL
