I have a friend who has some langauge audio cassettes he wants to put on CD. They are not available on CD so downloading a copy wouldn't be an option (I already Mule searched for the langauge course for him).

What's the best way to capture the audio into something that could be burned to disc? I don't expect him to have anything other than a line-in on his soundcard (no phono inputs etc) and he's not particularly computer literate so the solution will need to be fairly simple.

go tape deck to sound card then use something like goldwave to record it using the line in on the sound card

That's how i did it once, although i just used Windows built-in sound recorder.
