SCANNERS REMAKE IN THE WORKS

"It was announced the other day that Lions Gate Films is finally working on the remake of David Cronenberg's classic film Scanners and that a search for a director is out- well an inside tipster dropped us an interesting scoop seconds ago. It appears that Alejandra Aja, the director of Lions Gate's upcoming High (Haute) Tension (review), is in talks to shoot the remake. Keep your eyes here, because you might miss something-really, you might!"

Previously, it was to be directed by the guy who made Saw.

I'm sure it's going to suck, but even if they actually manage to make a decent movie - what's the point? Except money, of course...

On the other hand, I'm curious about the exploding head sequence. I'm pretty sure they'll invest much in it (after all, most people recognize the movie by this single, particualar scene, so I don't think they would cut it out).

Sure, how about a remake of Anaconda next? It's nearly ten years old...

People shouldn't touch these classic movies(I'm refering to Scanners and other great Cronenberg works, not Anaconda!),remakes suck 90% of the time, when it's directed by Paul Anderson it's 99%...
