From FH. Although the DVDScr was very good, no harm to replace with a DVDRip.

THE MACHINIST is the story of TREVOR REZNIK, a lathe-operator who is dying of insomnia. In a machine shop, occupational hazards are bad enough under normal circumstances; yet for Trevor the risks are compounded by fatigue. Trevor has lost the ability to sleep. This is no ordinary insomnia...

The Machinist (2004) - Fan Commentary Track by DonkeyKong

Specs
Format: mp3, 96kbps CBR, Stereo
Language: English
Running Time: 1:37:19
Size: 67MB

How to play it
In order to watch the movie with the commentary, download a player such as BSPlayer, which can play the movie while using an external audio file (Shift-L).

Info
This is my own Commentary to Brad Anderson's The Machinist (2004). It's intended for the DVD that runs at 25 fps.

This is the second time that I'm recording a fan commentary (after The Fly (1986)). Like the first one, the entire recording is done in one take and on the first try.

Please give me feedback - I don't mind hearing bad reviews as long as they are honest.

Thanks DonkeyKong, I can't say that I was overly impressed with this one. Started out original and really something interesting in new, hit every cliche and ended up doing the same old/same old for this type of story.

I got a whole Secret "its not clever enough, the writing is substandard, the story has been too many times before, waste of talent" Window vibe with this one.

Still its not as bad as Secret Window, since it at least had a much better atmosphere and was technically well made. I just have an adversion to dumb writing in this way. Dumb writing only suits dumb types of films (like Star Wars  ).

However, I'll grab the commentry :)

* The following may be considered a spoiler *
In the commentary I say that I don't think guessing the movie makes it any worse - on the contrary. As oppose to other movies (like the one you mentioned), I truely believe that this one is a psychological study and NOT a "let's see how we can outsmart the viewer!". That is why the second viewing is so much better, because you're not trying to guess all the time.

I must agree with you DonkeyKong, I though this was excellent, with a stunning performance from Christian Bale.

I loved this movie too. I watched this and straight afterwards The Final Cut. The Machinist was much better than that.

If that bint, Charlize Theron, got an Oscar for Monster, then so too should Christian Bale for this performance.
