I have successfylly burn over 150 DVD-R 4X at 8X speed without an error. I just love verbatim cd and dvd's. They never fail.
I haven't had a single burn error since i started used verbatim exclusivly. And thats several years ago.
I guess there are other manufactures that do the same job great as well. But for me, it's verbatim. :beerchug:

What kind of cd/dvd's do you use in your everyday life and how offen do they fail?

I know exactly what you mean, ever since using Verbatim, I've never changed back to anything else. And dabs.com sell 'em pretty cheap as well.

I use Philips 8x, get them in spindels of 50 for 24 euro's.They say Fuji discs are pretty good too. Can get them in spindels of 25 for 12,50 euro's, are those discs recommended? The website says the mediacode is YUDEN000T02. I heard Tayo Yuden is one of the best manufacturers for discs.

@Mantronix, How cheap is pretty cheap? I can get Verbatims 8x for about 17 euro's per 25 discs.

Since i had my burner i haven't failed a single disc yet. I don't worry about failing burns, more about the possibility of dead discs in about a year. Any experiences with discs dying after a short period of time? Which brand/type was it?

I use Verbatim, get them from http://www.cd-rmedia.co.uk you can get a pack of
25 DVD-R's for ?9.50 (55p cheaper than http://www.dabs.com incidentally
Mantronix?) I Burn them at 4x, but they're listed as 8x.

I looked at getting a DL burner, but you can't get verbaitim DVD-R DL discs
yet, just the DVD+R DL's at the moment. (i'm sticking to -R, i'm guessing
that will come out on top.)

I never bother verifing the DVD's either, i used to but after a few hundred
without a single coaster, i stopped bothering.

Verbatims have always been perfect. But then again, its not hard to be perfect if you charge over the top prices

Thats because -r hasn't even launched DL yet, and the rate they are going its looking less and less likely to take off :( Its looking like they've fallen at the first hurdle :(
