A collection of three different films by Mick Duffield that Crass would show during their live performances. Contains the music from the album "Yes sir, I will" throughout the video and totals in at a little over and hour and a half long. Strange stuff but really interesting as well.

Crass A punk band before it's time... Wild and strange, this is the kind of flick you need drugs for. It's in 3 separate mini movies. Autopsy, Choosing Death and Yes Sir I Will. Flashes from all sorts of old TV, movies, army footage, slaughterhouse footage and other weird things with an audio soundtrack enough to drive a regular person insane. After you watch these montages they do make some sense in a way. Very cool effort. Rated 4+ to 5

Thanks PCA, always wanted to see this one but never did. I think it was more like 1982-83 though. :beerchug:

Like I said, it's nigh on impossible to find out anything concrete on this, most sites (including the official crass records site) say
Quote:
Three films by Mick Duffield as shown at Crass's gigs 1978-84.

If you can find out anything more concrete, let me know :)

[edit] Date changed to 1983 - the year the soundttrack / album "Yes Sir, I will" was released, makes more sense than late 70's[/quote]

It's a series of short films shown at gigs by the punk band Crass. From what PCA says I would guess the video was filmed maybe 1978 and the audio added around 1983 for the VHS release, I guess the original films were silent but sadly I never saw Crass so I can't be sure. The Yes Sir I Will album was released in 1983 and imo was shite, so I can't believe they recorded that at the same time as their brilliant earlier material.

Discography verified (although FAR from complete)

Just listening to it now, I'd almost forgot just how much I love Crass, in fact albums like Penis Envy and Stations of the Crass are MUCH better than I remember, even Yes Sir, I Will isn't as bad as I remebered it.
