D., I chipped my xbox with a Xenium Ice modchip and it was pretty straightforward.
Well, once PCA had spent two weeks helping me out until we finally decided the first modchip was bust and I got a replacement. But now it's chipped and working, it's a very versatile little machine.
Anyone wanna buy a PS2?
EDIT: What's SC:CT?

Hello DJ
As for lockability see this web site : http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list
Not sure how up to date it is though

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Thanks, i'll take a look into that.
EDIT: I took a look, i think i'll use a Seagate 120gb (ST3120026A). On the link you gave me it has good reactions but it gets a little hot, do i need an extra fan too? I want to replace the old fans with more quiet ones anyway so i could add one more as well. Do i need to pay attention to the program people used or doesn't that make a difference?

good luck with that, you'll have to modify the case in order to change fans, and there's not enough room for a 2nd Quote: | Do i need to pay attention to the program people used or doesn't that make a difference? |
Shouldn't matter

Really? On xbox-scene i read a tutorial where a guy just ripped out the old fans and glued some other, more silent, one in place. Can't i just replace the fan and connect the wires? I also read some guide some time about putting a fan under the HDD.
But anyways: I'll take a look into this and maybe me and a friend are going to do it this weekend, he wants a bigger HDD too and also has a softmod (your package, i did it for him).
Thanks for all the answers!

The xbox fan is 70mm, if you can find a 70mm fan it will just drop in, otherwise you're SOL

And yet another question (forgive me, this'll be the last one for today ):
All the guides i came across tell me to use EvoX, i have thc lite and UnleashX, do i really need EvoX? If so, can i set it up as another alternative dash (next to UnleashX)? Or do i have to replace the standard (thc lite) dash with EvoX?

Aah, to get your hard drive key.
No, you don't need Evox, you can use ConfigMagic instead

Well, two examples (from two different guides):
Quote: | Run your selected exploit (read the exploit's instructions) to load EvoX, and then run ConfigMagic. Once you're in ConfigMagic, select "Save EEPROM" or "Backup EEPROM" or whatever the option is to dump your EEPROM to disk. |
Quote: | Once you are in evox run the backup option in the settings menu. This will create a backup folder in your evox base directory (not your c drive). To find it, if you used the 007 hack, simply FTP into your xbox and go to the following folder: /E/UDATA/4541000d/000000000000/ |
The first quote, okay, i already have the EEPROM backup here on my HDD, as for the second, i only have the backup you sent me and i transferred to my xbox HDD, not the *.bin files evox would make. Later in the guide i'd need to use HDD_Driver to get those images onto the new HDD.
EDIT: Man, you're fast. Or maybe i'm just slow.... Thanks, i'll try not to bother you anymore.

He's the greatest! It was about the first time i was doing anything with an xbox, i just bought it a couple of hours before i started modding. For the rest i had no experience except for some games i played at friends' places. When my dash was gone and my xbox wouldn't boot up anymore i thought i really was screwed. Luckily PCA helped me out by trying lots of things and eventually sent me a backup of his 1.6 modded xbox which i transferred to the xbox HDD. That got it working again.
PCA's a great guy, and i mean that.

I can't agree with you guys more. He really is a great guy for helping all of us, and not only here but through the PMs too . I only bought an Xbox because of his promise of a guide (I was going to buy a pre-chipped one) - and he came good.
Cheers fella (one day I will get you a crate of beer)
