Anyone got the knowledge to remove the shaded pixel area you get on Japanese (cough) films.Thanks

Yup. It's part of the picture after it is digitally added in, and becomes part of the frame.

lol, yes, you can't perfectly physically change hard properties of a movie. Whilst you can sample and filter frequencies of the picture, it would be near impossible to get anything to fix pixelation, especially when it is introduced purposely as a filter.

The nearest you can get is apply a blur filter (a frequency excluding one) which will get rid of the sharp borders between the pixelated blurred patch, and then a sharpen one to make the features more distinct, but it will probably just make it worse.

The 'download an uncensored' one is the only valid option
