I've unplugged my cable modem and plugged it into the Xbox (so the cable is connected to the Xbox and my NIC card), when I turn on my computer though it tells me that a network cable is unplugged why is this?

It's the same cable that my conection has been running on so the cable isn't knackered, I've also tried 2 other cables but get the same message.

Surely that cable you used from your NIC to the modem was a normal straight-through CAT5 cable. To go straight to the Xbox you will have to use a crossover cable (or use a hub/switch).

The beginning of this guide shows the pin-outs for a crossover cable, or you can buy them.

killingjokezzz, thanks.

Looked on that page earlier but mis-read the info.

All the cables I tested are straight through, was certain I had a crossover cable among them.

Will get one later tonight and see how I go.

Yeah i managed to get on last night already. Is it me or is the pirate bay down alot (for short periods of time, let's say ~an hour). I've just started it and it's coming in with a whopping 18k/s.
I see a total of 8 seeds and 2312 leechers, damn hit-and-runners.

Seems to be fine once you get it working, I had a REAL struggle to get the us release working on a PAL machine, it's the same as SuperMonkeyBall, if you got that working without the patch you should be OK.

Could you post it when you tried and it works? If not, i'll cancel this download and wait for a PAL release (or copy it from a friend who's going to by it in a couple of days).

Anyone's at the point where you need to seduce this chick so she gives you a security card to the casino? First i killed her and took the card and then i tried to seduce her and also got the card. After i got the card, the next mission should be triggered but it doesn't. For the rest the only other mission i can do is the one for Zero which is shooting these couriers with an RC plane. I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Anyone else has got this problem?

hey, you know you can apply pc mods for SA to the xbox version?

Not that it means the Xbox version is anywhere near as good as the pc version to any degree, but i thought that was cool and proves the 'xbox is basically a pc' thing

Anyway, I've done all the zero missions, they are side quests, the next ones quite a blag, but i don't think its a requirement to do it. It is to do the secret government organisation ones, have you got the pilots license?

I've got the SM lass, but haven't started dating yet to get the keycard.

Make sure you walk around on foot, you might have a phone call waiting ;)

I prefer the xbox version just because it's more relaxed to play xbox than playing PC imo. I've got the PC version lying around here too, but never played.
I have my license, haven't done all the airstrip missions yet tho, maybe i'll try that. Thanks for the idea.

you have less control than a milk float on the console versions though (I haven't played the xbox version, but the PS2 version is very sloppy.. I guess more relaxed is one way to put it since you can't have as much fun if you ask me), it really spoils the gun fights and the driving accuracy which is all the fun :) When you die through clumsy controls rather than being out gunned, that's unacceptable for me. Plus that and my pc is about 8+ times more powerful than the xbox

The lack of 2player on the pc is really f*cked up, it would be so much easier to implement it on the pc, yet its the only one with out  At least MTA is out soon.l

You will need to do the airstrip missions at a guess, since he has your brother in jail and although i'm at about the same stage as you (wish i could play it more often :( ) I'm pretty certain his are the core missions, whereas the vegas missions, especially the casino heist seem like side quests.
