Hehe, that's not what i mean really. I just don't like to play games on PC really, except for strategy games which just don't work on a console (shooters too, but not as much).
But anyways, i'm off finishing the airstrip missions.

How do you get Subtitles to display in Xbox Media Center?

I've tried SRT's, vobsubs & Vobsubs zipped but none display. Pressed menu when the AVI is playing and selected enable but I get nothing. The subs are named the same as the AVI, I've gone into video callibration and changed the position of the subs.

Just can't get the seperate subs to play.

Any help would be great

I've never had a proplem with subs, except with one build of XBMC in which they wouldn't work at all

Try upgrading, if that doesn't work try changing the font the subs are supposed to display in.

I've had a kind of that problem. It seemed i had some option that corrects framerate or whatever (forgot the name, will post it when i get home) turned on.
[edit]It's called 'Adjust framerate'. If it's on, turn it off and try again.[/edit]

Whats your guys view on this price, a nearly new xbox for ?80 that has a Samsung drive? I know you can get them cheaper but its normally hit and miss with the drive...

That's not bad, it's ~the going rate for a 2nd hand xbox, the samsung drive is a bonus.

BUT unless you need to play cds it's pretty much irrelevant nowadays

Hey guess what i bought!

I got an Xbox Crystal, 5 games (or so), and a DVD receiver... its not brand new but its all pretty new with the boxes.

?80 but I need to wait for it to arrive from devon.

Did spud do good? Do I get a toffee? :lol:

boy am i lucky, came today, had a quick shot on Evil Dead and Fight Club which came with it to see that everything was in working order... boy was a plesantly surprised to see a samsung drive staring back at me :mrgreen:

Next task is to softmod, and then at some point in the future shove a bigger hard drive in.

well i don't even have a memory card or one of the games needed to exploit... just getting ready.

BTW, you said there was another method that didn't need the games? Difficult? I mean opening up the case doesn't bother me that much.

You will always need one of the games at least once unless you have access to a modded xbox for an evening. Once you have the eeprom from your xbox you can unlock the HD on the PC, copy the relevant (hacked) files over and then re-lock the HD and put it back into the xbox. It's more fraught and if you screw up you HAVE to buy a chip, I've never bothered, due to the minimal gain over the softmod method.

If you'd rather, I can post you the game and the memory card with the save on to mod the box, just mail 'em back when you're done.
