This is an absolutely remarkable little film. It is a "documentary" about a leper colony made by a poet. The images are shocking yet the vision is beautiful. The lyrical depth is hardly unexpected given the personality of the author, but I would say that Farrokhzad's cinematic strength is quite surprising, with all the deliberate compositions and fast rhythmic cutting (often synched to background noise) that only serve to reinforce the message of the movie.

Nah..lepers are funny to me, but being Japanese I am sure they will make it with some message behind it.
On a serious note..from the screens it looks impressive with the type of cinematography that I would expect from Terayama.At any rate it;s a great find and is probably underrated as with most of his movies and shorts.
For those interested in more of his work check this link out http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=7682 that was released by Fitz a while back...A lot of people didn't "get" that one either which is sad.Cool this one is subbed in English. :mrgreen:

Hell yeah!.. It's only in the US that no messages are allowed outside of commercials...

But, dear DxaKrator, I understand that you're probably very busy polluting the puritanical, but you may seriously benefit from reading my original post in a bit more detail: this movie is NOT Japanese, it does NOT have anything to do with Terayama, and the cinematography is about as dis-similar to Terayama's movies as it gets...
